Our GPS took us through Jena to save on time. We were a little hesitant to stop by as everyone kept telling us to go through Pineville instead. Needless to say I’m glad we didn’t because this place was awesome. Brisket was juicy and super tender 10/10 the chicken almost stole the show it was amazing. Sides were delicious as well. Bbq sauce was nice and smoky. The lady who brought our food to our table was very sweet as well. My only complaint was some of the women behind the counter could use a little more customer service training as the men preparing the meat were having to do their job for them, like no menus out, not addressing us while we were waiting to place an order etc but that was a minor deal in an otherwise great establishment. Stop by you won’t regret it!

Was just passing through and thought, why not? We both had the three meat plate and it was amazing! The brisket was especially excellent in that it just melted in your mouth. I wish we could have stayed longer but needed to get back on the road. Definitely worth the stop.

We were driving through the area and found this restaurant on Google. Seeing that they had a buffet with lots of vegetables options convinced us to stop. I'm a healthy eater and was able to enjoy a great meal. I do wish the veggies didn't have as much sugar added but I know it's a southern thing. My husband and I were both very pleased with the quality of food and amount of items offered for the price. Hope to be back this way soon.

Stopped here in May while on a motorcycle trip. I had the brisket plate with two sides. Nice small town feel and friendly service. Food was good. Got in and out quickly despite a fairly busy restaurant on a Sunday.

Wife and I decided to stop here for dinner. There was a bit of a wait as there were quite a few people in line but that in itself could be a good sign. I selected a hamburger with a side of fries while the wife opted for the small fish plate. I polished off my hamburger and liberated one of her pieces of fish while she attempted to sneak one of my onion rings. My burger was fine though it sort of started to fall apart on me and here food was good as I assisted in finishing off her coleslaw, fries, and fish when she said she was full.

Pros: the Brisket is the clear front runner here. Plate was handsomely portioned and it was more than one could eat. The field peas with bacon rounded things nicely and had a great flavor. The country charm atmosphere and wide adequate seating made for a comfortable lunch visit. Cons: the cornbread is more like a corn flour biscuit and though it didn’t impress, it did remind me of our rural great-grandmother’s homemade fixing. The mashed potatoes were lackluster with what I assume was nearly packet gravy.

Best place in town for tourists to go. I swear, nothing in this place is frozen. It's always fresh, and really good. Good place for picky eaters, too. Done business with the owner a couple of times, and she's the sweetest. Servers/the front are the sweetest people, too. 100/10 for Jena

The best bbq and fried seafood I've had in a long time. The service was top notch, the environment was very inviting, the food was piping hot brought right to the table, and the restrooms were clean! 10/10 would recommend to anyone and definitely return! Wish I had taken a plate home!
